Catalpa
Tree originating from North America, with short trunk, and dome-shaped crown. The leaves are big, up to 25 cm, oval and light green (bright yellow in C. bignonioides “Aurea”). The flowers are numerous and decorative, white with yellow and purple shades, appear in June-July and are joined in upright clusters. It grows better in cool and fertile soils, but adapts to all types of soils. It suffers frost and the dwarf variety withstands pollution.
