Cupressocyparis

Genus which includes Leyland cypress, mostly grafted on a C. sempervirens (see Cupressus), with numerous scaly evergreen leaves, and upright crown, usually fastigiate. Flowers and fruits are discreet, grows in all types of soils, withstands pollution, maritime climate and pruning. It is also used in pruned hedges.
