Origin: marshlands of N. America. Deciduous tree with strong trunk and broad conical crown. Soft green oval leaves, 5-8 cm. Insignificant flowers, followed by bluish-black fruit in clusters. Notable for the lovely autumn colours of its leaves, from yellow to red and orange. An ideal tree for damp spots, such as a sunny pond-side. In autumn the water will reflect tones of yellows and reds, like fiery sunsets.
