Amelanchier

Origin: North America. Shrub or small deciduous tree, upright habit. Elliptical or elongate, dark green leaves, orangey-red in autumn. Clusters of white flowers in April followed by bluish-black, edible fruit. Very hardy, withstands city pollution and tolerates humidity and temporary drought.
